The Phi Delt House is Coming Down

Demolition of the Phi Delta Theta house began in mid-August. Do you agree with the University's decision to turn the property into "green space?" Share your thoughts on the message board!

In other campus Greek news, we just learned that the Alpha Sig and SAMMY houses are up for sale.

A Message from the President, Square and Compass Association
Brothers, last month I sent you a draft copy of a new set of bylaws for our association.  I was pleased and surprised with the number of you I heard from with thoughtful and constructive ideas to improve the new bylaws.  I have incorporated your ideas into the draft and will send the final proposed document out in next month’s eLetter so you all will have it before the annual meeting.

I will tell you now that we have decided to drop the annual dues requirement, which was a carryover from the original bylaws, and stay with our current practice of annual appeals, the most recent of which you will be receiving shortly for 2011.
In your recent emails, several of you asked to see a copy of the original bylaws. You can view them by clicking on the continued link below.  Note that these bylaws  may be changed by a two-thirds vote of the members present at any stated meeting.

Please put 16 October on your calendars for our annual meeting and get together at the House.  We are still putting together the details and I’ll have them in next month’s eLetter.

An Interview with George F. Williams ’56
George F. Williams ’56 reflects on why he joined Acacia during his college years to why he continues to financially support the Penn State chapter in his alumni years:

"I give financial support to the Penn State Chapter of Acacia because of the great influence it had on my life and hopefully will have now and in the future on the lives of other young men."
